Heart Screen ProGram

In-Office Procedures
Treadmill Stress Test
A basic stress test that involves walking on a treadmill and monitoring your heart with leads on your chest.
Echocardiogram
An ultrasound test to evaluate for structural abnormalities of your heart.
Holter Monitor
A monitor worn for 24 hours or more to record irregular or fast heart beats.
Event Monitor
A monitor worn as needed to record irregular or fast heart beats.
Stress Echocardiogram
A treadmill stress test with an ultrasound that looks at your heart before and after exercise.
Exercise Nuclear Stress Test
An extensive stress test where a radioactive tracer is injected into your bloodstream before and after exercise on a treadmill. A scanner is used to image how well your heart takes up the tracer.
Pharmacologic (No Exercise) Nuclear Stress Test
A stress test similar to an exercise nuclear stress test but without walking on a treadmill. A medication is given intravenously to simulate a stress.
Hospital Procedures
Transesophageal Echocardiogram
A diagnostic procedure that places an ultrasound probe into the throat to take closer images of the heart.
Cardioversion
Electrical shock to the heart to get it back in normal rhythm.
